This group of paintings I am calling my “Fresh Air” series is mainly an attempt to put some sky, air and color in the new work.
The “Guys and Canyons” show last year represented six years of closeup details of flesh and rocks. Before that I spent six years doing my “Stations” show based of the Stations of the Cross. These images were set in the dark piers as they existed in the Hudson River next to the West Village in NYC.
Mostly with my new group of paintings I am enjoying the act of drawing and painting and going back to some of my old themes cowboys, skies, still live and pickups etc.
